Beef tomatoes

The beef tomato is a large, sturdy fruit with more flesh than a standard tomato. This is because beef tomatoes have four to six chambers. Regular tomatoes only have two or three. Because of the larger volume of flesh, beef tomatoes retain their shape well when heated, for example. This variant is therefore very suitable for cooking. The beef tomato is often used to make soup.

Beef tomatoes contain an average of 19 kcals, 0,6 grams protein, 2,4 grams carbohydrates, 0,5 grams fat and 1,3 grams dietary fibre. In addition, beef tomatoes contain plenty of vitamin C, vitamin B and beta-carotene. The latter protects against skin aging and tissue damage, amongst others.
