Vine tomatoes

As the name suggests, vine tomatoes grow in bunches on a vine. The varieties are now developed to such an extent that all tomatoes in a bunch ripen at the same time. This is different to loose tomatoes, which are picked by the grower depending on how ripe the bunch is. As it happens, with loose tomatoes, the fruit closest to the stalk ripens before the tomatoes that are positioned further away from it.

Vine tomatoes are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Vine tomatoes thus play an important role in strengthening resistance. This fruit also contains large amounts of vitamin C, which is necessary for tissue development, absorption of iron and maintaining your resistance. Naturally, better resistance means you are more resistant to viruses and bacteria. Per 100 grams, vine tomatoes contain approximately 25 kcals, 1,9 grams protein, 2,9 grams carbohydrates and 0,2 grams fat.

Not only do vine tomatoes possess many beneficial properties, they can also be eaten in all kinds of ways. For example, you can use them in salads, eat them as they are, or use them in warm dishes such as soup or pasta sauce. Did you know that vine tomatoes contain the most nutrients just after harvesting? As such, our logistics process is geared towards getting our healthy vine tomatoes onto the shelves as quickly as possible. Vine tomatoes are therefore shipped from the grower on the day of harvesting.
